Welcome to the official website of the Manipur Fire Service

Established on 11th April 1957, the Manipur Fire Service began as part of the Police Department. However, on 1st May 1991, it was restructured and became an independent Directorate, with a professional Director as its Head. Since its inception, the Manipur Fire Service has played a crucial role in safeguarding lives, properties, and the environment in the state of Manipur.

Today, the Fire Service operates 19 Fire Stations/Sub-Stations out of the 29 authorized Fire Sub-Stations, spread across 16 District Headquarters and Sub-Divisional Headquarters. The Fire Station at Imphal Headquarters stands as the core of our operations, providing critical fire and emergency services to the region.

While firefighting remains our core responsibility, we go beyond traditional emergency response. The Manipur Fire Service is actively involved in responding to a wide range of emergencies, including:

  • Building collapses
  • Road traffic accidents
  • Drownings
  • Rescue operations for both humans and animals

Our commitment extends beyond just responding to emergencies. We are also dedicated to fire prevention, raising fire safety awareness, and providing skill training to the public. We work relentlessly towards ensuring the effective implementation of fire protection measures in different types of buildings and occupancies.

The Manipur Fire Service is proud to serve the people of Manipur and remains committed to its mission of saving lives, preventing fire hazards, and ensuring public safety in all aspects of fire and emergency management.
